2017 Improv Weekend 13/14 May
Carterton Events Centre
Two-day workshop of improv games and scenes in two streams:
- beginner – no previous experience required, you will get a solid grounding in the core principles of improv theatre
- intermediate – for people who’ve done one of our workshops before (or have other improv experience), you will do a quick recap of the core principles and then exercise more advanced skills.
Did we mention music and rhyme? Yes, you can make up a song or a poem on the spot (once you know how).
You will laugh. A lot.
Fun is at the heart of this weekend and there’s a whole lot of valuable learning to be done as well.
Why take part? Did we mention fun and laughter? Also: quicker thinking on your feet, embracing failure, enjoying spontaneity, more confidence and sharper listening. Great for speakers, actors, teachers, presenters and anyone who might need to stand up in front of groups of people.
Who are our trainers? The delightful, clever, funny and pedagogically pernickety guys and gals from over the hill, Best on Tap, back again for our fourth Improv Weekend.
